Oily skin condition is not something to be worried off, it’s something to be proud of because ‘they will age gracefully’!!! Oily skin is not an adverse skin condition to be worried off, it is similar to hyperactive kid doing everything more in action!!
Sebaceous gland, present within the skin is responsible for secreting a fluid that is composed of squalene and other fatty acids called sebum. However, every skin type needs some natural oils to keep the skin moisturized and supple. But if there is over production of sebum by the glands leads to greasy feel and prone to infection.
When there is over secretion from sebaceous glands leads to seborrhea (red, itchy and tacky feeling on skin). Along with shiny and greasy feeling oily skin beauties will have visible large open pores. Oily skin is more prone to clogged pores which leads to appearance of black heads, white heads and frequent occurrence of acne.
There is also a myth floating around that oily skin requires no moisturization as it gives heavy feel because of sebum production. But sadly, the reality is that oily skin needs adequate hydration that suits individual skin types.
What is Combination skin?
Combination skin is mostly a skin type where you experience both the worlds together – some parts of the skin feel dry while other parts (mostly TZone) feel oily at the same time. Here let’s express about oily to combination. The conditions are pretty much same as oily skin where part of skin feels dry or stretchy along with oily and greasy feel. And more aptly this condition will fluctuate between seasons.
The combination skin mostly has T zone oily (forehead, nose and chin) and cheeks dry or sometimes dry according to climatic conditions. This condition will have appearance of larger pores, shiny skin and had to combat with dry and flaky skin. Its more important to bring about the right balance especially for Combination skin.
What causes Oily & Combination skin?
Oily skin is the result of over production of sebum from sebaceous glands present in the skin’s surface whereas combination skin is found with T zone oily and other parts of face dry. However, hormones, genetics, lifestyle and diet also play a major role.
So, its important to take care of what we feed our body & skin in addition to choosing the right products for your skin type.
